Job SummaryAs a Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) Lab Technician
, you will play a critical role in supporting product yield improvement and failure analysis activities within Micron's Characterization Lab. You will operate advanced semiconductor test equipment, investigate product-related issues, perform data analysis, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive product quality and reliability improvements. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern memory technologies while contributing to operational excellence, technical innovation, and ongoing ground breaking efforts.
- Investigate product lots and devices to support Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) failure analysis and characterization requests.
- Complete semiconductor test flows using approved procedures, engineering tools, and laboratory equipment.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain characterization and burn-in equipment, including Single Board Testers (SBT), pretest stations, and burn-in systems.
- Apply Linux-based systems, scripts, and engineering applications for gathering data, solving issues, and supporting product analysis.
- Analyze test results and verify process outcomes using failure analysis and yield-monitoring tools.
- Partner with Product Engineers, Characterization Engineers, Manufacturing teams, and Technical Support groups to resolve product and process issues.
- Document activities, track product disposition, maintain accurate records, and communicate findings to collaborators.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on laboratory efficiency, equipment utilization, product quality, and safety.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a technical, manufacturing, laboratory, semiconductor, military, or engineering environment.
- Ability to interpret procedures, follow detailed work instructions, and resolve technical issues.
- Experience using computer systems and software applications to collect, analyze, and communicate information.
- Ability to work a compressed workweek schedule, including 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift changes as required.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Computer Technology, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory operations, characterization, product engineering, or equipment support experience.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems, command-line tools, or scripting environments.
- Knowledge of semiconductor testing, burn-in processes, failure analysis, or yield enhancement methodologies.
- Experience using data analysis, automation, digital tools, or AI-enabled solutions to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
