Community & Business Banker

SUMMARY

The Community & Business Banker delivers personalized client service by holding financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions. This position maintains client relationships with an emphasis on First Interstate Bank's Service Commitments.

• Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone.
• Opens and maintains a variety of products, including checking, savings, IRA, CDs, credit cards, and originates all types of personal loans.
• Processes new consumer and small business loan requests.
• Identifies referral opportunities to other lines of business and documents them using 360 View.
• Builds client relationships through outbound engagement and proactive measures.
• Performs teller duties such as check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and counts currency and coin.
• Participates in volunteer activities and financial education efforts.
• Stays current on regulatory changes and demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Maintains confidentiality and uses tact and diplomacy effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft software and 10‑key skills.
• Knowledge of digital platforms and CRM systems.
• Basic math skills; able to compute rates and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
• Problem‑solving skills for standardized situations.
• Timely completion of work and ability to meet deadlines.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 1‑3 years of banking or related experience required.
