Berkeley, Inc. is seeking an Associate Advisor & Financial Planner
. We are an independent fee‑only financial advisor with (currently) five employees. We are located in beautiful Boise, Idaho. As a firm, we take our duty to do our best for clients and to enjoy ourselves at work very seriously. This individual will work closely with the lead advisors and our team to support the financial planning process for ongoing clients and our standalone planning services.
You will be a part of most client meetings, managing planning related tasks and keeping financial plans organized and on track. This person will do planning input, follow‑up, write‑up and delivery from start to finish. Ultimately, this person will develop their own client relationships once Berkeley strategy and ethos have been understood and developed. This is a track to become a lead advisor in 3 to 5 years.
The best candidates will be very organized, communicate clearly and professionally, are trustworthy, personable, proactive, and fun. If you are seeking a strict 9-5 job where you clock in and clock out, this position is not for you. This is a full‑time position with some flexibility once trust and responsibilities have been established.
Responsibilities- Develop financial planning recommendations through meetings, data gathering, and planning software.
- Serve in a support role for senior advisors—contributing to all aspects of the planning process and transitioning full planning responsibilities of the firm.
- Within 6-12 months, begin taking the lead on new client planning relationships with the support of a senior advisor, overseeing onboarding, managing the annual service calendar, and facilitating client meetings.
- Develop ongoing client service calendar to ensure we are planning for all clients and providing timely follow‑up.
- Provide continual support to clients by preparing information for client financial review meetings and participating in all client meetings.
- Enhance client relationships through continual and regular client contact and correspondence; provide follow‑up to all client inquiries, needs and requests.
- Manage and coordinate with team members on planning recommendations.
- Help to add value to the firm through implementation of new methods and ideas.
- Engage in ongoing education to stay current in financial planning related knowledge and skills; our firm has a strong emphasis on continuous learning.
- 1+ years of work experience related to financial planning or wealth management in an advisory firm.
- CFP® candidate or preparing to take the exam preferred, or a CFP® candidate with direct experience in a paraplanner role.
- Collaborative, positive attitude and ability to work with others.
- Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage several deadlines.
