Grants Analyst

The City of Boise is seeking a collaborative, mission-driven Grants Analyst to identify, secure, and manage funding that supports affordable housing, homelessness response, transportation, and active transportation initiatives. In this role, you'll work across City departments and with community partners to bring critical projects to life, ensuring grant-funded programs deliver lasting benefits for Boise residents.
The Grants Analyst manages the full lifecycle of grants, including prospect research, application development, contract and agreement coordination, compliance monitoring, reporting, and closeout. The ideal candidate brings experience in public sector, nonprofit, or grant-funded environments, along with a strong understanding of grant regulations and funding requirements. Success in this role requires excellent relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex funding programs while helping turn strategic priorities into meaningful community outcomes.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, law or a related field
- Two years of equivalent work experience, such as grants and/or contracts management experience, experience interpreting laws and regulations or auditing or regulatory compliance monitoring experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
Knowledge of:
- Principles, methods and practices of regulatory compliance monitoring
- Techniques and methods used in sound business practices.
Special Requirements:

City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

Additional Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training:
- Ability to:
Communicate and coordinate with various operational teams - Operate specialized accounting/budgeting software
- Prepare concise reports
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with outside agencies
- Prioritize own workload in order to meet various deadlines
- Read, understand and follow policies and procedures
- Work independently and in a team environment using appropriate discretion and judgment
- Perform accounting operations and complex account adjustments
- Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
- Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training:
- Advanced level of knowledge of principles, methods and practices of grants management as well as experience with the Uniform Administrative Requirements (2 CFR 200) or other federal funding sources and related regulatory compliance requirements.
