We are seeking three motivated, customer-service-oriented professionals to join our team as a Taxpayer Services Representatives. These openings include one full-time position, as well as two Limited Service position (the work is projected to be of limited duration due to funding or the nature of the position or project.)

  • Assist taxpayers by answering inquiries concerning state and federal tax laws, rules, policies and filing requirements.
  • Explain to taxpayers about compliance with tax laws and appropriate use of tax forms, allowances, itemization and schedules.
  • Interview taxpayers to obtain necessary information to help taxpayers understand how to prepare tax returns, apply for permits, and/or establish payment agreements.
  • Research taxpayer account status, refunds, errors, and transactions.
  • Explain billings and notices. Process tax payments and compute penalty and interest.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge of state or federal income tax laws and rules. (Typically gained by at least 3 months of experience where primary responsibilities included applying or explaining state or federal tax laws, rules, or policies and procedures to others, preparing tax returns as a professional or volunteer, or processing/filing income, sales or withholding tax returns for a business OR completion of at least one course or seminar where you learned to prepare tax returns)
  • At least 6 months of experience
  • Interpreting, explaining and applying information such as laws, rules, and/or policies and procedures to customers on a regular basis
  • Using the internet for research.
