Job Description: We are seeking a detail‑oriented and knowledgeable Housing Compliance Auditor to conduct compliance monitoring for all Tax Credit, HOME, and HTF properties. This role ensures compliance with HUD, IRS, and other regulations and helps maintain the integrity of affordable housing programs for low‑income individuals and families in Idaho.
Location: Boise, Idaho
Responsibilities- Schedule, coordinate and conduct compliance monitoring for all Tax Credit, HOME, and HTF properties
- Audit tenant file reviews, rent and lease reviews, and perform a physical inspection of the property
- Review applicable federal rules, statutes, and directives to determine compliance with program‑specific requirements
- Work with owners/agents to ensure that appropriate documentation is submitted and approved
- Review and approve Annual Occupancy Reports, Rent Increases, Certificates of Continued Compliance and Utility Analysis
- Help develop and conduct ongoing training and technical assistance to owners/agents in the portfolio
- Assist in identifying issues and making recommendations for process improvement
- Stay current with industry regulations, including Fair Housing laws and program guidance
- Provide backup support as needed and determined by Housing Compliance Manager
- Field tenant complaints and concerns to facilitate a resolution
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (e.g., public administration, business, housing, or related discipline)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in administration of federal rental housing programs preferred
- Experience in property management, regulatory compliance, accounting, or a combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform all functions
- Considerable knowledge of the regulations, policies and procedures governing the various Affordable Housing Programs and Fair Housing programs and knowledge of general administrative and business practices
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple competing priorities
- Excellent communication, customer service, and report‑writing skills
- Ability to travel up to 10 weeks per year, including overnight site visits
