Animal Compliance Officer II
The City of Boise is seeking an Animal Compliance Officer II to promote responsible pet ownership and support the safe, respectful use of Boise's parks, trails, foothills reserves and Greenbelt.
This active, public-facing role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the community and resolving concerns through education and voluntary compliance. Animal Compliance Officers patrol by vehicle, bicycle and on foot, work closely with Boise Police and Boise Parks and Recreation staff, and help address animal-related concerns in public spaces.
Successful candidates will be comfortable working independently in changing weather and trail conditions, communicating calmly in difficult situations, maintaining accurate documentation and balancing customer service, education and enforcement.
To ensure internal equity and alignment with the approved budget for this position, offers are made within the posted hiring range. Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in customer service in a compliance role
- Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Licensing And Other Requirements:
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
Special Requirements:
- Applicants must be able to pass:
City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation - Driving Record Check
