This Community Service Officer II position is assigned to the Boise Police Department Front Counter at City Hall West and serves as a primary point of contact for members of the public seeking police services, information, resources, or assistance. Provides in-person public service by evaluating requests for assistance, conducting interviews, preparing police reports and documentation, answering questions regarding police procedures, laws, ordinances, and community resources, and directing individuals to appropriate services.
The position also performs Community Service Officer duties in support of department operations, which may include responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, collecting and processing evidence, and assisting Patrol Officers, detectives, and the Crime Lab as needed.
This position works under immediate/direct supervision and is regularly scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at City Hall West.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training- High school diploma or equivalent and
- Two years of experience working in law enforcement or working with the public, in‑security or a related field.
- Valid state‑issued driver's license.
- National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six months of employment.

- City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
