The City of Boise is seeking an Impact Fee Coordinator to serve as a key technical resource within Planning and Development Services. This position reviews development activity, determines impact fee requirements, calculates and verifies fees, and helps developers, contractors, applicants and City staff navigate complex fee and permitting questions.

The role also serves as a lead resource for permitting, supports complex development projects, improves processes and customer guidance, and contributes to impact fee studies and related planning efforts.

Ideal candidates will bring strong experience with permitting, construction processes or development administration, along with the ability to interpret requirements, solve problems and provide clear guidance to a wide range of customers.

To ensure internal equity and alignment with the approved budget for this position, offers are made within the posted hiring range. Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six years of office experience and familiarity with construction processes.
Licensing And Other Requirements
  • Ability to obtain International Code Council (ICC) certified Permit Technician within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.

Essential Functions

Reviews permit applications and development activity to determine whether development impact fees apply and ensures fees are assessed consistently and at the appropriate point in the permitting process. Calculates, verifies, and receives fees for applications and permits, including permit fees, plan review fees, trade fees, and applicable development impact fees. Serves as the primary resource for applicants, contractors, developers, design professionals, residents, and city staff regarding impact fee assessments, fee applicability, payment requirements, and related processes.

Coordinates complex impact fee matters with appropriate staff and partner departments to ensure fees are applied in accordance with adopted policies, procedures, and fee requirements.
