The Division of Public Health is seeking a Health Program Specialist for its downtown Boise office. This position works closely with federal grant partners to ensure quality-of-service delivery and compliance with grant and contract agreements and regulations. The role provides technical assistance to assigned program areas and performs a variety of office support functions requiring in-depth program knowledge — including managing key aspects of the federal grant lifecycle, from tracking deliverables to supporting reporting and audit readiness.
This position is not eligible for telework.

- Maintain accurate records for assigned awards, including deadlines, deliverables, and reporting schedules
- Prepare and support submission of required programmatic and financial reports
- Provide technical assistance to program staff on grant and compliance matters
- Support audit readiness through organized documentation and responsiveness to information requests
- Perform related office support functions requiring subject-matter depth in assigned program areas
- Flag emerging compliance risks or upcoming deadlines to leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. - Some knowledge of public health practices. Typically gained by completion of college-level coursework relating to public health practices OR at least one year of professional level experience in a public health field.
- Some knowledge of survey methodology and statistical procedures used to collect, analyze, and interpret data. Typically gained by completion of at least one upper division college-level course in statistics OR at least one year of experience performing related work with a measured outcome.
- Experience managing projects. Typically gained by approximately one year of experience where you held the responsibility for all the various aspects of managing an entire project.
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
- Excellent technical writing and critical thinking skills. Typically gained by producing formal reports, policy documents, grant narratives, or after-action reports where accuracy and clear reasoning directly affect funding or operational decisions.
