Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy
Dispense, check, and counsel on medications, work with and lead pharmacy Technicians and staff to execute all day-to-day requirements of running the pharmacy.
Experience/Education:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree and current Pharmacist License (must be in good standing)
- Experience with USP 795 and 797
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Compounding Pharmacist
- Board Certification Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (or willingness to obtain as soon as possible)
- Work Closely with Compounding Operations Coordinator on daily tasks and projects.
- Assist Pharmacist in Charge with all daily functions of running the pharmacy
- Keep a close communication with PIC and Admin team about ongoing details of projects and or projected development and growth.
- Oversee and assist as needed with our Sterile/Non-sterile Compounding programs including leading the team of Compounding Technicians
- Oversee training and testing schedules for clean room certifications for all technicians and other compliance details as it pertains to sterile and non-sterile legal requirements.
- Develop formulations for new or alternative medications as needed.
- Oversee programs for testing, drug batches, sterile hoods, and all related equipment.
- Check emails daily. Attend department meetings as need and disseminate all information discussed with team and related team members.
- Actively participate in the compounding processes
- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescriptions for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Assays medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Provide advice on otc medications to treat common illnesses such as flu, cold sores, or headaches.
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as ambulatory infusion pumps.
- Identify patient’s drug related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc.
- Strong interpersonal communication is required when working in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, administrative team, PIC, pharmacy interns, Technicians, etc. as well as cooperation and teamwork.
- Consistent and punctual attendance. As the Pharmacist, you are essential to the daily workflow and your punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by Pharmacist in Charge or as circumstances dictate.
- Train and share information generously with other team mates any time you can.
- Openness and willingness to cross train into any task or department that business needs necessitate.
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to lift and push or pull up to 50lbs.
- Pick and pinch small tablets with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands.
- Perceive the size, shape, temperature, or texture of objects by touching with fingertips.
- See objects at close vision and be able to identify and distinguish colors.

Hours:Regular Pharmacy hours (9am-6pm) 5 days a week.
