Neurodiagnostic Intraoperative Monitoring Specialist II
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE,
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors or Associate level college degree in the life sciences.
- Must be registered as an Electroencephalographic Technician (REEGT) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).
- Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) or registry in Evoked Potentials required. Registry in 2 modalities required.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in recording evoked potential procedures in an operating room required. 5 years of experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in EEG required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Understanding of Medical Terminology required
- Will demonstrate troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).
- Coordinates department Surgery workflow and schedule.
- Provides continuous feedback to surgeon during surgical procedure and notifies neurologist as needed for overviews.
- Works closely with Operating Room staff and physicians to provide Neurodiagnostic services following ASET guidelines.
- Documents physiologic, hemodynamic, anesthetic, and artifactual changes, which occur during operating procedures.
- Understands pertinent anatomy and proper evoked potential modalities to monitor those structures at risk.
- Revenue Management:
Understands and oversees department charges, charge master process, charge capture processes and can execute them and reconciliation processes. Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. - Input tasks in electronic health record (EHR).
- Documents task completion for inpatients and outpatients in electronic health record (EHR).
- Trains new employees in all department modalities
- Maintains Intraoperative Monitoring on-call schedule.
