Neuroscience Specialist – Boise,  Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.)

The Neuroscience Specialist role enhances customer engagement, thought leadership, and business planning by engaging healthcare providers through in‑person, virtual, and digital tools, offering expertise on products and approved conditions.

Position Overview

Enhance customer engagement, proactive outreach to healthcare professionals (HCPs), and provide insights to inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct proactive outreach to HCPs on product access, on‑label information, and patient care guidance.
  • Engage customers via virtual or digital tools and direct them to other colleagues (e.g., Customer Service Specialists) as needed.
  • Facilitate speaker programs and organize local provider groups for discussions with regional leaders.
  • Elevate opportunities and feedback to the Area Business Lead, including local market insights, and inform local strategy and business goals.
  • Action on insights collected from customer‑facing roles to adjust targeting and call point plans in collaboration with the ecosystem team.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience.
  • Reside within 50 miles of the primary city in the sales territory.
  • Previous cross‑functional industry experience in life sciences or related sectors.
  • 4+ years working in a sales role with HCPs, ideally representing multiple products.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, transformation‑driven environment.
  • Track record in coaching, training, and mentoring peers.
  • Commitment to ethical business practices, regulatory standards, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ability to assimilate and communicate complex clinical and product information.
Key Sales Capabilities
  • Territory Analysis / Business Planning:
    • Use competitive data and business reports to track progress and uncover opportunities.
    • Establish near‑term priorities based on territory and business conditions.
    • Respond compliantly to competitive threats and opportunities.
    • Educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures.
    • Effectively utilize promotional materials.
  • Selling Skills, Engagement & Account Pull Through:
    • Maintain awareness of internal support resources and utilize them.
    • Apply market knowledge to overcome objections and influence prescribing habits.
    • Identify territory professional groups to network with key opinion leaders.
    • Build strong relationships with practice personnel, focusing on patient health.
    • Deliver balanced office calls and sales presentations with approved marketing materials.

Salary

Minimum $104,400 – Maximum $162,150, plus incentive opportunity.
