208 Supported Living is a New Residential Habilitation Agency in need of a QIDP.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to join our team in providing exceptional support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and monitor personalized care plans that promote independence, safety, and well-being. Your expertise will help empower residents to achieve their goals while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including those requiring assistance with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), memory care, dementia care, and autism support. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will be instrumental in fostering a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each residents needs, preferences, and goals, incorporating best practices for assisted living, memory care, and dementia support
- Assist residents with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
- Monitor and record vital signs and medication administration in accordance with medical protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Provide direct support during activities that promote independence while managing behavioral challenges through effective behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, nurses, case managers, and family members to coordinate holistic care approaches
- Ensure safety by conducting regular safety checks, maintaining cleanliness standards, and managing emergency situations using first aid skills when necessary
- Document all interactions and updates in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems accurately and promptly
- Support residents emotional well-being through compassionate communication and engagement in social activities or therapeutic programs
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with people with developmental disabilities in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care settings
- Knowledge of Alzheimers disease, dementia care, autism spectrum disorders, hospice care, and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration procedures, vital signs monitoring, and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed
- Strong skills in conflict management, case management, and developing individualized care plans
- Valid drivers license for transportation duties; experience driving residents preferred
- Certifications in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications related to caregiving or social work are a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with residents of all ages who have disabilities or cognitive impairments
