The Boise Advanced Heart Failure clinic is now hiring a motivated and efficient Medical Assistant for our award winning and growing Heart Institute family!

Position Summary & Highlights
  • This position will primarily support the Advanced Heart Failure clinic and will occasionally cover other sub-specialties.

  • Saint Alphonsus offers the highest level of integrated, multidisciplinary care for advanced heart failure patients.

  • Additionally, our team has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients who need heart transplant or ventricular assist device therapy. We have a team approach to provide the best care.

What You Will Do
  • You will help support fellowship trained Heart Failure surgeons, in addition to other surgeons, cardiologists, APP providers, PAs, and NPs. https://www.saintalphonsus.org/services/heart-and-vascular/heart-failure-program/heart-failure-team

  • This position will perform rooming, vitals, chart prep, collecting patient medical history information, medication review, and EKGs.

  • Help to proctor Cardiopulmonary stress testing with exercise physiologists.

  • You will also assist with internal devices (cardiomems) billing.

  • You will complete many prior authorizations primarily for specialty medications and patient calls, and in-basket tasks.

  • An ideal candidate for this position is a team player who is self-motivated and likes to be challenged, is driven, and has strong critical thinking skills. You enjoy developing relationships with physicians and patients.

Work Schedule
  • 40 hours per week, 4 - 10 hour days, or 5 - 8 hour days, during the week, Monday - Friday.

  • 6140 N. Curtisian Ave. Ste. 300, Boise,  (On the Boise Regional Medical Center campus - I-184 and Curtis Road)

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

  • New Graduates:
    1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school.
    2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

  • Medical Assistant with

    Experience:

    1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed below.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

    • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

    • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

  • * EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
