Research Coordinator for School-Based Suicide Prevention Trial

What To Expect

The Clinical Research Coordinator 2 is responsible for supporting a large, multi-state study (BRITE Trial) focusing on school-based suicide prevention programming. They will be responsible for the day-to-day adherence to the study protocol and developing and overseeing routine quality control processes, overseeing participant compensation, tracking participant retention, and supporting data management. The Research Coordinator will also be responsible for sites managing study-related administrative processes such as scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, organization and distribution of study communications, processing of travel reimbursements, and other administrative duties.

The Research Coordinators may be certified as a back-up Interventionist to deliver the SOS Signs of Suicide (SOS) and Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) suicide prevention programs, completing study staff trainings for both interventions at the beginning of the study and participating in ongoing training and fidelity monitoring. They will be responsible for collecting measures related to the delivery of and fidelity to the study interventions.

Some travel to school research sites around Central and Southern Idaho to engage with schools and to deliver the SOS and YAM study interventions to 8th, 9th, and 10thgrade students may be required.

The Research Coordinator may also facilitate the coordination of study recruitment, informed consent, and research visits/assessments for study participants in schools. They will support data collection, data entry, data proofing and cleaning, and resolving data queries.

Typical hours:
Mon-Fri ~8a-4:30p, and flexibility to work earlier or later shifts as needed to accommodate study needs. This position is temporary (5 years expected, depending on availability of grant funding).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting human subjects research studies. Experience with large, complex studies preferred.
  • Comfort discussing suicide and mental health in a non-judgmental environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Efficient and able to balance multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Data management experience, strong written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience:

    3 years' experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
