Nutrition By Design Duties & Responsibilities Registered Dietitian Boise, Idaho
Our innovative practice is expanding and looking for a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about helping the eating disorder population. To join our team, please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications.
Required Qualifications- Have completed the requirements by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and be a current Registered Dietitian
- Be licensed as a dietitian in the state of Idaho
- Required to complete a minimum of 75 CEU hours every 5 years per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred, but not required
- Use the ADIME process to perform comprehensive outpatient nutritional assessments and re-assessments across the age spectrum per departmental screening and assessment guidelines
- Interviews using age and education level appropriate communication techniques with patient/client
- Be familiar with creating and implementing different types of meal plans that can be reviewed and adjusted for each individual patient as needed
- Reviews and interprets nutrition related lab values
- Reviews and considers impact of nutrition related medications on patient's nutritional status and nutritional needs
- Provide evidence-based nutrition education to patients and their families
- Document ongoing status, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes to correctly capture course of care
- Communicate appropriate dietary and nutrition information to physicians, nurses, and other members of the patient care team
- Perform 1:1 supervision with supervisor weekly as well as group supervision with all team members weekly
- Aligned with Health at Every Size messaging
- Empathetic
- Possess motivational interviewing skills
- Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing
- Have strong time management and be team oriented
- Well organized with attention to detail
- Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Perform duties in a professional manner and with minimum supervision
- Excel at developing rapport with patients and the medical team
- Communicate and interact effectively, respectfully, and appropriately with diverse populations of patients and their families as well as other staff members and anyone that comes into the office
- Have experience with the nutrition care process
- EMR experience desirable, but not required
- Experience working with the eating disorder population desirable, but not required
- Maintain confidentiality of information and safeguard PHI
- Creates handouts as needed to assist with patient care
- Efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software
- Efficiently and effectively maintain paper and electronic files
- Part-time
- Flexible schedule with the opportunity for day and/or evening shifts
- Weekend shifts available if desired (not required)
- In person with remote opportunities
