The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is seeking a Nutrition Manager to support statewide WIC operations. While the main office is located in Boise, we are accepting applicants statewide.
In this role, you will be a key leader supporting local WIC agencies in delivering the nation’s premier public health nutrition and breastfeeding program. You’ll serve as a primary resource for clinic operations, policy development, compliance with federal and state requirements, and overall program guidance.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about maternal and child nutrition, motivated to improve statewide program quality, and experienced in project management, staff supervision, and monitoring. The successful candidate will be collaborative, organized, and ready to make a meaningful impact for Idaho families.
This is a statewide position that will report to the nearest DHW office. The assigned work location will depend on workstation availability at a DHW office.
This position may be eligible for limited telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

- Contribute to strategic planning and program direction as part of the Idaho WIC Management Team.
- Provide direct supervision to Nutrition Specialists and the Breastfeeding Coordinator.
- Manage collaborative team projects while setting and steering strategic priorities.
- Travel in‑state and out‑of‑state to attend trainings and conduct site reviews of local WIC agencies.
- Monitor compliance with federal regulations and offer consultation and technical assistance to local agencies.
- Develop, recommend, and coordinate implementation of WIC policies and procedures.
- Facilitate regular meetings with local WIC agency Coordinators.
- Serve as the program lead during federal reviews and audits related to nutrition, breastfeeding, or clinic operations.
- Develop and deliver training, tools, and materials for local agencies.
- Serve as lead for program complaints, civil rights complaints, and fair hearings.
- Conduct desk reviews and onsite monitoring to ensure local agencies meet federal and state requirements and adhere to Idaho WIC policies.
