Job Description
The Senior Principal Strategic Client Advisor serves as a senior strategic advisor to health plan clients, consultants, and account leadership teams. This role helps clients navigate a rapidly evolving healthcare environment by providing actionable insights, strategic consultation, and expert thought leadership.
Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to market leadership and clients by framing business challenges, evaluating strategic options, and translating healthcare trends into practical, client-specific recommendations
Lead and support consultative engagements, executive briefings, and planning discussions focused on growth, affordability, member experience, pharmacy strategy, total cost of care, and market competitiveness
Develop and maintain deep expertise in assigned health plan markets, regional dynamics, competitive activity, regulatory changes, provider market shifts, consumer trends, and healthcare innovation
Translate market intelligence into proactive insights and external perspectives that help clients anticipate opportunities, manage risks, and inform strategic planning conversations
Create and deliver compelling thought leadership for clients, consultants, and industry audiences by connecting market developments to client priorities, strategic decision-making, and Prime’s perspective
Identify emerging enterprise client needs and value-creation opportunities, partnering with client-facing teams to align strategic insights with client priorities, long-term relationship goals, and future advisory engagement strategies

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Pharmacy, Economics, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED required
10 years of work experience in health plan, payer or PBM strategy, healthcare consulting or market intelligence
Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics, payer strategy, pharmacy benefit management, and health plan operations
Knowledge of healthcare affordability, total cost of care strategies, pharmacy trends, and emerging healthcare business models
Demonstrated ability to translate complex PBM topics, industry trends, and regulatory changes into clear, audience-appropriate insights for executives, clients, consultants, account teams, and cross-functional partners
Proven consultative skills, including discovery, issue framing, facilitation, and shaping strategic conversations with clients or consultants
Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, PharmD, or related discipline)
Experience working directly with Blue plans, regional health plans, integrated delivery systems, or national payer organizations
Experience presenting at conferences, industry forums, consultant meetings, or executive leadership events
Experience partnering with account, sales, product, clinical, finance, legal, and operations teams to align recommendations with client needs and enterprise capabilities
