Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Banquet Captain is the operation of the food and beverage production for events. The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the set-up and clean-up of food and beverage during banquet functions in the hotel while delivering outstanding guest service and adhering to sanitation and cleanliness standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Food and Beverage Supervision (40%):
- Supervises food and beverage service throughout banquet functions to ensure quality service and product
- Assist with planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee break outs, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, etc while maintaining sanitation and cleanliness
- Hold staff meetings to communicate information and update and listen to staff concerns or comments
- Trains and evaluates staff in accordance to Oxford Collection of hotels standards
- Inspect the scheduled function area/room for cleanliness, working condition and proper furniture/equipment set up; fix issues and report to respective departments
- Operations and Administration (20%):
- Work with the F&B Manager to develop, plan, implement and follow through on events and procedures to benefit the Company
- Attend hotel management meetings as assigned by Food & Beverage Manager
- Must have understanding on how to read and execute a BEO form
- Make sure all meeting rooms are set accordingly to BEO's and are clean and organized at all times.
- Work closely with the sales department to provide catering for meeting room clients
- Guest Relations (30%):
- Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
- Interact and acknowledge guests and prospects
- Knowledge of Special requests/arrangements and Identify issues and supply solutions
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests.
- Other (10%):
- Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
- Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
- Coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff and General Manager on things requiring attention
- Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
- Other Hotel related duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2+ years server and supervisor experience
