Overview
The Lead Systems Administrator will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for provisioning, managing, and optimizing core infrastructure systems including Windows Servers, Active Directory, VMware, M365, Zoom, Manage Engine, Rubrik, and Go Anywhere. This hands-on role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise systems while providing mentorship and technical guidance to the Systems Administration team. The Lead Systems Administrator will spearhead infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives to support organizational growth and efficiency.
You’ll partner cross-functionally to evolve the company’s infrastructure toward greater performance, resiliency, and security.
- Lead the management and maintenance of enterprise systems and applications, including Windows Server (2012–2022), VMware, Active Directory (GPO, DNS, DHCP), and Microsoft 365.
- Serve as Tier III escalation point for complex technical issues and incidents.
- Oversee system performance, capacity, and backups to ensure operational stability and data integrity.
- Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and configuration changes across production and development environments.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to implement infrastructure enhancements and new technologies.
- Mentor and coach junior administrators, providing technical direction and workload prioritization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network failures with a proactive, analytical approach.
- Lead implementation and enforcement of system security standards, including certificate management, access controls, and compliance measures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and change management records.
- Participate in capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance optimization initiatives.
- Drive automation efforts through Power Shell scripting and other tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing Microsoft domain networks and enterprise infrastructure.
- Proven expertise with:
- Active Directory (GPO, DNS, DHCP, Sites & Services)
- Windows Server (2012–2022) and Windows 10/11
- VMware and virtual infrastructure management
- Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Manage Engine
- Rubrik or comparable backup/recovery solutions
- Strong Power Shell scripting and automation skills.
- Deep understanding of system security, patching, and configuration management best practices.
- Experience with Azure or AWS environments a plus.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and structured change management processes preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
