Job Overview
New-to-District Classified employees may be eligible to receive credit for up to two years’ worth of credit for movement (steps) on the Classified Salary Schedule based on relevant prior work experience. Please complete the top portion of this form and provide it to your previous employer for completion. To qualify, newly hired employees must provide this form, completed by your former employer(s), to Human Resources no later than the date of their fingerprinting and appointment.
Transferring employees or former District employees hired into this role will be placed on the "I" letter grade of the Classified Salary Schedule, but the initial step placement will vary based on a variety of factors.
Benefits Information: For positions that qualify, the District offers a benefit package that is valued at more than $10,000 annually. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and PERSI and are provided to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a 0.50 FTE or greater contract.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Competency Requirements
Patch panels, including dress-in, terminations, labeling, and testing;
Current and new cabling technology and trends;
Using hand and power tools;
Troubleshooting cabling problems;
Applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Demonstrate independent, creative thinking and analytical skills;
Adapt technology to district needs;
Troubleshoot and resolve technology problems;
Prioritize work projects and work within time constraints and deadlines with minimal supervision;
Maintain office, school and individual confidentiality;

- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems, including video and data cabling, door access control systems, analog and digital public address/intercom systems, and auditorium technology;
- Pull and route CAT5e, CAT6, and future standard cables in new or existing buildings;
- Pull and route A/V cables in new and existing buildings;
- Label all cable runs clearly and accurately and maintain related documentation if applicable;
- Demonstrate strong cable management skills, including the ability to organize and store cables in a manner that does not interfere with devices, damage the aesthetic of the building, or create a safety hazard;
- Maintain and support all auditorium equipment, including sound boards, light boards, and lighting components;
- Execute projects efficiently, and with full adherence to industry and district standards;
- Installation of structured cabling supports, such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct;
- Testing newly installed or relocated cables using multimeters, tone generators, and cable certifiers;
- Identify and remove old or redundant cables including but not limited to decommissioned coax, network, etc;
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and other specifications to determine the layout of cabling systems;
- Maintain a clean job site, picking up all tools and equipment, and securing the job site each day to eliminate hazards and security risks;
- Maintain and develop safe cabling pathways;
- Maintain documentation of building infrastructure and work completed;
- Work collaboratively with IT and Facilities teams to resolve problems;
- Maintain accountability and readiness of all tools and equipment;
- Keep district vehicles clean, organized, and presentable at all times;
- Support the district's help desk by processing assigned tickets in a timely fashion, with exceptional customer service;
- Partner with vendors regarding product roadmap, enhancement suggestions and support cases;
