Job Overview

Position: Data Migration Field Support Technician
Contract Length: Approximately 6 months
Location: Boise, Idaho (full onsite)
Job Type: Contract, W2 only (C2C applications not considered)

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand court processes to ensure solutions meet user needs.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and district court leadership to prioritize daily tasks and projects, providing responsive and timely end‑user support.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot standard desktop/laptop hardware, printers, and peripheral devices in accordance with IT procedures.
  • Coordinate and/or migrate customer data from decommissioned devices to new equipment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software on mobile devices.
  • Assist in coordinating equipment shipments, receivables, and processing surplus equipment as per Court procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of serialized assets.
  • Support court staff and local administration with office moves, additions, and changes as required.
  • Communicate with users and staff regarding issue status, resolution, and task completion.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate technical service team members when necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to test, troubleshoot, and validate new hardware and applications.
  • Attend meetings as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three years of IT support experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong experience with Windows 11.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Onboard new users to Microsoft 365, emphasizing SharePoint, One Drive, and Outlook, and answer general user questions.
  • Migrate end‑user emails and documents to Outlook and One Drive.
  • Maintain Windows Active Directory users, computers, and policies – preferred experience.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Office 2016, including export/import of mail, calendar, and contacts.
  • Perform basic network (wired and wireless) configuration and troubleshooting, including ping and trace route – preferred.
  • Knowledge of court processes and court information systems – preferred.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Travel throughout the state as needed.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Understand impacts of software, system, or application changes on customers.
  • Prioritize and address customer questions and trouble tickets based on customer needs and impacts.
  • Work independently.
