Senior IT Project Manager – Release Train
• Boise, , US
- Plan and execute all activities related to program increment planning.
- Work with Service Delivery Managers and Product Managers to ensure strategy and execution alignment.
- Assist the Service Director with managing risks, escalating, and tracking impediments.
- Work with Scrum Masters to define and drive consistent practices across the Site Reliability Engineering teams.
- Define program dashboards to manage and report the status on product implementations.
- Assist Service Delivery Managers with tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
- Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals.
- Facilitate scrum activities and meetings (daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives) between the Scrum Team and Product Owner(s).
- Lead one or more agile development efforts within the organization.
- Document areas of improvement and action items coming out of the sprint retrospectives.
- Work with Product Owner(s) to keep the backlog(s) groomed.
- Maintain and report on relevant sprint metrics.
- Administer and maintain the accuracy of the scrum board.
- Ensure quality standards for all deliverables and promote continuous process improvement.
- Act as a liaison between Development Teams and Product Management, ensuring that appropriate project process is made.
- Identify and resolve obstacles that may hinder the team from meeting project milestones/deadlines.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
- Prepare for and facilitate release planning with teams.
- Assist in dependency management and cross‑team coordination.
- Facilitate continuous improvement and the development of a learning culture on teams.
- Facilitate ceremonies, collaboration, communication, and conflict management.
- Teach new team members Agile mindset and frameworks, practices, and process.
- Influence the organization in the removal of organizational impediments and development of healthy Agile practices.
- Mentor Product Owners and team members in agile practices and continuous improvement.
- Remove impediments to the team's ability to perform.
- Act as a buffer between external distractions to minimize disruptions.
- Assist in the coordination of operational issue resolution.
- Facilitate team development, mediate conflicts protecting the team and encourage healthy team dynamics.
- Foster team responsibility, self‑accountability, transparency and self‑organization.
- Leverage coaching skills to help the team learn to solve its own problems.
- Introduce and encourage the team to explore healthy Agile development practices, focus on quality and technical excellence, predictable delivery, automation, and continuous delivery.
- Teach and encourage a balanced backlog that delivers valuable features for customers, reduces technical debt, provides business value, and enables product sustainability.
- Help the team to develop, capture, and analyze metrics to facilitate team improvements.
- Promote transparency through healthy communications and data integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of working experience as a dedicated Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, or Product Manager.
- Scrum Master certification or an equivalent certified professional.
- Working experience in one or more Agile methods or frameworks:
Scrum or Kanban. - Working experience with Agile scaling frameworks, preferably SAFe.
- Compensation is based on factors such as job location, education, training, experience and internal value analysis.
