AI Workforce Development Specialist

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The AI Workforce Development Specialist owns the programs, partnerships, and communications that move Smart Mfg & AI's (SMAI's) upskilling agenda forward. This is a program- and people-centric role. You will design learning journeys, coordinate training across teams, run our expert and seminar series, maintain relationships with technology partners and universities, and track the adoption and impact of everything we deliver. You translate SMAI's strategy into well-run programs that help team members confidently adopt AI efficiency tools, learn new ways of working, and grow into emerging AI roles.

You partner closely with the Workforce Development Engineer, who builds the hands-on technical content and tooling you bring to the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Training & Upskilling of the SMAI Team
    - Own and drive the SMAI training agenda and the sharing of Best Known Methods (BKMs) for AI productivity tools, ensuring a steady cadence of high-quality, well-attended sessions. Coordinate training on new ways of working, including end-to-end (E2E) AI workflows, partnering with subject-matter experts to schedule, promote, and run sessions. Design and manage structured upskilling pathways that move team members into emerging roles such as AI Product Owner and E2E AI Full-Stack Developer.

Administer skills and training platforms (LMS / learning platforms): curate catalogs, run enrollments and learning paths, and maintain content libraries. Define and track learning metrics—participation, completion, skill attainment, and adoption—and report progress to leadership.
  • Partner Capabilities
    - Coordinate communications around external conferences and announcements from our technology partners, ensuring relevant updates reach the right SMAI audiences. Lead targeted, strategic collaboration with a select group of universities—owning the relationship cadence, joint program logistics, and follow-through.
  • AI Innovations
    - Organize and run the Generative AI expert series and master classes, from speaker coordination and scheduling to promotion and post-session follow-up. Facilitate innovation sharing across SMAI, creating the venues, formats, and channels that surface and spread new ideas.
  • Technical Leadership Program (TLP) - Coordinate the data science technical seminar series, managing logistics, speakers, and attendance. Support mentoring programs and help clarify and communicate the expectations for advancement into and within the TLP.
  • Upskilling Outside SMAI (Citizen Data Science Development) - Coordinate citizen data science development upskilling programs that extend AI capability beyond SMAI to the broader enterprise. Build communications, onboarding, and community-of-practice structures that help non-specialists adopt approved AI tools responsibly.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Human Resources, Business, STEM, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in program management, learning & development, enablement, communications, or a related subject area, including the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Strong project management skills capable of managing multiple initiatives, timelines, and key leaders simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical concepts into clear, engaging content.
  • Familiarity with AI tools that enhance efficiency and a strong interest in bringing to bear AI-enabled solutions to improve learning, enablement, and business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience administering an LMS or skills/learning platform (catalog, learning paths, reporting).
  • Experience managing external partnerships—with universities, vendors, or technology partners.
  • Background in change management or driving technology adoption across an organization.
  • Instructional design exposure and familiarity with measuring learning impact and adoption metrics.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology environment.
