Overview

This Procurement Engineer role provides comprehensive on-site supply chain assistance, embedding a dedicated employee within the project team. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for all supply chain and procurement‑related activities, ensuring seamless project execution, effective cost control, and strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Project Integration & Communication:
    Liaison between project team, ACCO departments, and external suppliers. Participate in project meetings and assist ACCO personnel.
  • On‑Site Setup & Administration:
    Manage jobsite setup, including office trailers and essential services.
  • Procurement Log:
    Create and maintain procurement logs.
  • Budget & Procurement Management:
    Oversee budget and buyout for project equipment, materials, and services; negotiate with vendors; process purchase orders and change orders; track equipment release and delivery.
  • Invoice & Financial Management:
    Manage Medius queue, validate invoice pricing, review change order requests, confirm receipt of invoiced items, prepare invoice packages, verify prices against POs.
  • P.O. & Subcontract Management:
    Ensure accurate committed costs, manage timely execution of subcontracts, oversee contractor enrollment, issue subcontracts as needed.
  • Equipment Rental Management:
    Utilize existing agreements or negotiate new ones; perform rent‑vs‑buy analysis; track equipment on rent.
  • Supplier Management:
    Coordinate supplier needs with ACCO’s supplier base; resolve issues; oversee returns and credit memos; maintain vendor lists; manage warranty items and credits.
  • Logistics Support:
    Source and manage transportation suppliers; oversee costs.
  • Project Close Out:
    Validate PO/subcontract values; ensure invoices submitted and paid; close out open commitments.
  • Other Duties:
    Perform any other duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Strong business writing skills, proper grammar and terminology.
  • High customer service skills.
  • Organize large amounts of information with attention to detail.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a related position or industry.
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
  • College course in Business, Economics, or Management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Invoice Processing & Finvari Support or similar within first 4 weeks.
  • Working knowledge of H.V.A.C. parts and equipment.
  • Knowledge of local manufacturers’ representatives and dealers.
  • Knowledge of local contractors (electrical, general, crane, etc.).
  • Accuracy and a detail‑oriented approach to data entry.
  • Proficient‑plus level user of MS Excel and MS Word.

Physical Requirements
  • May regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 30 pounds.
  • Close and distance vision required.
  • Must stand, use hands, reach, talk or hear regularly.
  • Must walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed for site inspections.
  • Occasionally reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and shelves.
Hours

Exempt position. Workdays Monday through Friday. Hours 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional overtime may be needed.

Travel

0–5% of the time to and from the assigned office.
