We are currently hiring a Supply Chain Specialist for our Boise team.

Compensation: $22.50 per hour

Schedule:

Monday through Friday (Starting at 8:00 AM)

General Statement of Duties

This position is responsible for the activities associated with inventory management involving demand planning, procurement, and logistics for product that is sold and distributed by the company. The employee in this position must have the ability to track current inventory needs, forecast immediate and future customer demands, and negotiate and oversee transportation details to maintain balance between order fulfillment, product shelf life, and cash flow.

Must be able to troubleshoot breakdowns along the supply chain and respond fluidly to unexpected events. This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Supply Chain and has moderate latitude for independent direction in duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • 1) Maintain item and vendor information and constraints in ERP software,
  • 2) Forecast and identify demand for multiple warehouses,
  • 3) Create and maintain purchase orders,
  • 4) Negotiate freight pricing and terms and oversee the timely delivery of orders needed to fulfill customer needs,
  • 5) Strength in inventory management by assessing new and open orders, redirecting inventory between warehouses, and managing the forecast for future demand in order to provide customers with acceptable order fulfillment,
  • 6) When something significant changes in the supply chain or demand, reacting quickly and solving any supply chain problems that arise is a must, and
  • 7) Maintain relationships with Suppliers and communicate regularly with internal team in order to avoid unforeseen changes, excessive inventory and out of stocks.

Supply Chain Specialists are highly organized, detail-oriented individuals who know how to manage overlapping projects, collaborate with key team members to ensure clarity of expectations, and keep track of deadlines while prioritizing tasks to efficiently use their time. They are not only strong analytical thinkers with business acumen, problem-solving skills, aptitude in decision making and working with numbers, but they are also great communicators, persuasive, and good at negotiating.

A successful Supply Chain Specialist must take initiative, be able to identify opportunities for improvement in a complex chain and be able to spot trends and patterns without bias.

  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Consider the relative cost and benefit of potential actions to choose the most appropriate.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to responsible brand managers.
  • Can look at the supply chain from upstream to downstream with both short and long-term planning in mind.
  • Liaise regularly with brand team regarding brand assortment and product line changes.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding product availability, delivery schedules, and item changes.
  • Maintain all forecasting and demand planning for future replenishment.
  • Consider transportation methods so product arrives timely, and costs are within negotiated or market rates.
  • Create and maintain sales reports for management and analyze sales figures to project future requirements.
  • Create and maintain purchase orders with awareness to lead time and transportation, constraints, etc.
  • Fill rate and appropriate inventory turns are executed to goal.
  • Liaise with Accounting to ensure purchase order and invoice accuracy.
  • Assess supplier profiles and analyze opportunities.
  • Audit freight invoices and paperwork to ensure our internal freight cost is accurate or recommend price changes based on transportation market.
  • Communicate with management regarding risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
  • Manage relationships with Suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance of terms of contracts.
