Maintenance Technician

Location:

Boise, : $21.00–$25.00/hour

Schedule:

Part-Time | Approximately 25 hours/week | Flexible hours between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Are you the kind of person who can walk into a maintenance issue, figure out what's wrong, and get it taken care of?

We're looking for a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician in Boise, Idaho to help keep our residential properties safe, attractive, functional, and resident-ready.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving. You'll handle general repairs, troubleshoot maintenance concerns, prepare vacant units for new residents, and respond to work orders across assigned properties.

What You'll Do
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs across assigned residential properties
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing, electrical, and basic mechanical issues
  • Repair or replace fixtures, appliances, drywall, and other building components
  • Complete interior and exterior painting as needed
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents within established timelines
  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests
  • Complete work orders accurately and on time
  • Troubleshoot maintenance concerns and coordinate solutions with site staff and supervisors
  • Conduct move-in and move-out inspections with site staff
  • Maintain property inventory and coordinate supply needs
  • Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and equipment in proper working condition
  • Maintain proper key control and security procedures
  • Coordinate and monitor work completed by third-party vendors
  • Report property or unit concerns, including safety hazards, housekeeping issues, or pest activity
  • Assist with snow removal and other seasonal property maintenance
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and help ensure emergency maintenance coverage
  • Attend required meetings, inspections, and training sessions
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Housing and ADA requirements
What We're Looking For
  • 1+ years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably within property management or multifamily housing
  • Working knowledge of general maintenance and repair practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues
  • Dependable, punctual, and accountable
  • Comfortable completing tasks independently and managing competing priorities
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, procedures, and written instructions
  • Basic math skills for measurements and material usage
  • Basic computer skills for communication, work orders, and documentation
  • Professional communication skills when working with residents, employees, vendors, and management
  • Ability to work in changing environments and adjust priorities as needed
Tools & Additional Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred
  • Must provide and maintain basic hand tools, including drills, saws, screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches
  • Ability to travel between assigned properties
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company auto insurance requirements
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on maintenance position. You must be able to:

  • Frequently stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Frequently lift 50–100 pounds
  • Occasionally lift more than 100 pounds with assistance
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Use required personal protective equipment while performing maintenance tasks
  • Safely perform detailed inspections, repairs, and equipment operation

You'll have the flexibility of a part-time, approximately 25-hour workweek, with hours scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You'll also receive a $40 monthly phone credit.
