Plans, coordinates, and oversees facilities-related and capital improvement projects for the Ada County Sheriff's Office across the Public Safety Building complex and multiple satellite locations. This position serves as the primary liaison between the Sheriff's Office and Ada County Operations for facilities planning, construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects. The incumbent exercises significant independent judgment, manages projects from concept through completion, and ensures alignment with operational needs, safety standards, budgetary constraints, and strategic objectives.

The position is assigned to the Sheriff's Administration and reports to the Chief Deputy.

Essential Functions

* Serves as the Sheriff's Office lead for planning, coordination, and execution of all facilities and capital improvement projects across the Public Safety Building complex and satellite locations including driver's license offices, contract city substations, and dispatch facilities;

* Oversees projects of varying size and complexity, ranging from space planning, office furniture design, and interior reconfigurations to large-scale capital construction and major facility renovations;

* Collaborates with the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, Executive Team, and Bureau leadership to identify, prioritize, and sequence facilities and infrastructure projects that support operational effectiveness, staffing needs, and long-term organizational growth;

* Works closely with Ada County Operations, Ada County Development Services and other county departments to coordinate planning, design, construction, maintenance, and infrastructure activities;

* Serves as the Sheriff's Office subject-matter representative for facilities-related matters;

* Develops project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and implementation plans, monitors timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed within approved parameters;

* Coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each project;

* Represents the Sheriff's Office in county procurement and RFP processes, including drafting specifications, participating in evaluations, and supporting contract administration;

* Ensures compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, accessibility requirements, and industry best practices, and promotes safe work practices during all phases of project activity;

* Assigns and oversees work performed by participants in the Sheriff's labor detail program, ensuring task alignment, safety compliance, and quality of work;

* Prepares reports, analyses, and briefings for executive leadership regarding project status, risks, funding needs, and anticipated operational impacts; and

* Maintains ongoing communication with internal and external partners to resolve issues, address concerns, and support effective collaboration.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

* Conducts research into new law enforcement concepts and procedures and studies the impact of major projects and changes; and

* Performs related duties as required.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, facilities management, engineering, public administration, or a related field;
