Description:
Saint Alphonsus in Boise is looking to hire a Supervisor for our Environmental Services group; this position will work full-time on the evening shift: 3pm-11:30pm.
GENERAL SUMMARY AND
PURPOSE:
Provides a consistent acceptable level of cleanliness and to promote a clean, safe and pleasant environment in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible within the boundary of available resources.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE,
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* High school diploma required.
* 1 year of experience in leading and/or supervising staff in in a health care facility or two years of experience in leading and/or supervising staff in a non-health care facility required.
* Vocational school or one-year college with courses in hospital housekeeping or institutional management preferred.
* Valid driver's license to drive company vehicles to off campus buildings preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Demonstrates compliance with hospital and department safety policies and procedures. Manages personnel consistent with HR policies and established standards. Manages the operational functions in their area of responsibility. Promotes a learning environment for staff. Promotes a positive working environment for staff. Collaborates and negotiates to meet the needs of internal customers and/or organizational goals.
Coordinates outside service vendors and contracts. Coordinates training and staff development programs. Manages department and hospital recognition programs. Manages patient, visitor, and staff complaints with quick resolution. Manages customer satisfaction and initiates the Customer Service Recovery Program. Conducts monthly staff meetings. Conducts safety, policy, and procedural training routinely. Ability to use vacuum cleaners, shampoo machines, sweepers, bonnet buffing machines, buffing machines, and carpet extractors.
Demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills. Verbal ability is needed to supervise workers. Must be able to communicate by telephone or answering machine. Must be computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Knowledge of chemicals used for cleaning and disinfecting.
