Production Lead – Night Shift

Position Summary

The Production Lead plays a key role in day‑to‑day manufacturing operations at our milk processing plant. You’ll work closely with the Production Supervisor to meet production goals, maintain quality and safety standards, and lead a diverse team of employees. This role blends people leadership with operational oversight and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and motivate production employees to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals
  • Oversee sanitation activities to ensure equipment cleanliness and compliance
  • Monitor production processes and operating parameters, using data to drive improvements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support corrective actions and implement approved SOP/SSOP and sanitation updates
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA standards are followed
  • Coach, train, and develop employees to build a skilled, engaged team
  • Communicate effectively through shift handoffs and plant meetings
  • Partner with Logistics by providing accurate inventory information
  • Encourage employee involvement and ideas for process improvement
  • Complete other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For Education
  • Required:

    High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • We prefer at least 3 years of production experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry
  • We prefer at least 2 years of people‑management or lead experience in a fast‑paced, diverse environment
Key Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to analyze data and take action
  • Flexible and adaptable in a changing production environment
  • Proven ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations
  • Team‑oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Physical & Work Environment

This position requires regular activity in an industrial manufacturing environment, including:

  • Standing and walking on concrete for extended periods
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 100 lbs rarely
  • Exposure to high noise levels (up to 92 dB), heat (over 100°F), and indoor/outdoor conditions
Equipment You’ll Work With

You’ll support operations involving advanced dairy processing and packaging systems, including:

Separators, membrane systems (UF, RO, NF), HTST, evaporators, dryers, bagging and palletizing equipment, CIP systems, and analytical tools.
