Job Summary
Micron is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, brand new technology and manufacturing environment. Equipment Maintenance Technicians support fabrication processing at the forefront of innovation for the world’s leading memory and storage solution provider, Micron Technology.

- Collaborate with team members and communicate preventative maintenance needs for manufacturing equipment performance, while proactively addressing safety concerns.
- Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, documenting hardware and process deviations to prevent recurring problems in tool functionality.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized.
- Participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of semiconductor tools.
- Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 25-40 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces.
- Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly, consistently wearing required PPE such as respirators and cleanroom garments to protect product quality and maintain a safe, contamination free environment.
- Lead projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, fulfilling scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months, and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
- 2 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
- 2 years of experience using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
- 4+ years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
- 4+ years of experience leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, focusing on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Over 4 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime and maintaining industrial and automated systems.
