Position: TECHNICIAN, ID1 ME - PH EQUIPMENT

Job Summary

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in the assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, brand‑new technology and manufacturing environment. The technician will support fabrication processing at the forefront of innovation for the world’s leading memory and storage solution provider.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members and address preventative maintenance needs for manufacturing equipment performance, proactively identifying and resolving safety concerns.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, documenting hardware and process deviations to prevent recurring problems in tool functionality.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring proper storage and organization of all items.
  • Participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools.
  • Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 25–40 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces.
  • Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly, and consistently wear required PPE (e.g., respirators, cleanroom garments) to protect product quality and maintain a safe, contamination‑free environment.
  • Work on and lead projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, focusing on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics, and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off or 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months, and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
  • 2 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining industrial equipment and automation.
  • 2 years of experience using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
  • 2 years’ experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
Preferred Requirements
  • 4+ years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, focusing on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
