Forklift Operator - Boise

Weyerhaeuser Boise Distribution Center is currently seeking a Forklift Operator. Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and designated leaders, this position is responsible for all activities associated with the movement and handling of materials related to the wood products yard/warehouse. Our starting wage is $20.30 per hour. This is a first shift position, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Key Functions:

• Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
• Safely load and unload products from various trailers.
• Courage to intervene in any unsafe practices.
• Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
• Accurately count units, record totals and document shipping and receiving activities.
• Develop in depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
• Be highly attentive and adaptive to workflows.
• Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.

This is not an inside warehouse position. This role will perform manual labor 55- 65% of the time.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• A positive willing to learn attitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able work outside in the elements five days a week and on rare occasions Saturdays, depending on business needs.
• Have excellent attendance.
• Ability to work on a computer.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work safely without injury to self or others.
• Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
• Ability to learn product identification, sizes, and handling characteristics.
• Forklift Operator experience preferred.
