Job SummaryMicron is seeking a highly motivated GEL Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, new technology and manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with team members and communicate preventative maintenance needs, addressing safety concerns.
- Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, documenting hardware and process deviations.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom or lab area by adhering to housekeeping protocols.
- Participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of semiconductor tools.
- Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 50 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces.
- Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly and consistently wear required PPE (e.g., cleanroom garments).
- Work on and lead projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, focusing on fulfilling scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Robotics, or related technical fields and at least 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or technical military experience.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off or 4 days on/3 days off) and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed.
- 4 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
- 4 years of experience using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software (Windows/Linux) skills to resolve manufacturing equipment issues.
- 4 years’ experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.
- 6+ years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or technical military experience.
- 6+ years’ experience leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Over 6 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime.
- Experience or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
