The Metal Fabricator is responsible for the complete fabrication and assembly of metal components, with a primary focus on stainless steel. Key duties include grinding and cutting using various tools, MIG and TIG welding of stainless-steel components to precise specifications, ensuring structural integrity and high-quality finishes. The Metal Fabricator will have the opportunity to operate and maintain fabrication equipment including press brakes and waterjet.
The fabricator is expected to read and interpret technical drawings, and work instructions, ensuring all work meets dimensional and aesthetic standards. Additional responsibilities include completing final assembly of equipment, inspecting completed work pieces, performing basic equipment maintenance, and adhering to all safety and quality standards. Fabricators work closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure all assemblies meet structural and performance standards.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel components with attention to detail and weld quality.
- Cut and grind stainless steel using tools such as grinders, and saws.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, and job orders.
- Conduct inspections of finished components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Follow company safety procedures and guidelines
- Operate press brake to bend and form sheet metal components to precise dimensions.
- Use waterjet to accurately cut stainless steel parts based on CAD files and specifications.
- Proven experience in metal fabrication, preferred experience with stainless steel.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and PPE requirements.
- Experience with operating press brakes and waterjet cutting machines is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 25 LBS multiple times a day
- Must be able to lift up to 45 LBS on occasion
- Must be able to stand at least 80% of the day
