Water Treatment Operator

An engineering consulting company in the industrial water treatment space is looking to hire a Water Treatment Operator. This individual will support the operation of a temporary wastewater treatment system for a major semiconductor facility, ensuring compliance with discharge requirements while monitoring pH neutralization, blending systems, pumping operations, flow rates, and water quality analyzers. Daily responsibilities include operating and transferring water between tanks, performing plant rounds, calibrating and verifying instrumentation, loading and unloading treatment chemicals, monitoring system performance, and supporting safe plant operations in an outdoor environment.

This role is highly focused on operational reliability and compliance as the temporary treatment system serves as a critical bridge until permanent infrastructure is online. The position is located in the Boise,  and is a 6-month contract with the option to extend month-to-month through Spring 2028. Operators will work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off, and both day and night shift operators are needed.

Day shift will be from 6 AM - 6 PM, and night shift will be from 6 PM - 6 AM. Weekly shifts will run from Wednesday-Wednesday. Target hourly pay rate is $35-$45/hour, and final compensation details will be decided upon an offer.

• Experience with water, wastewater, industrial treatment, or process plant operations
• Pump operation and mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Ability to calibrate, verify, and monitor instrumentation and analyzers
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts on a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
• Strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and ability to quickly learn new systems

• Experience with RO chemistry, UPW (ultra-pure water), or industrial water treatment systems
• Forklift or heavy equipment operation experience
• Background with Veolia, municipal water utilities, or City of Boise water/wastewater operations
