Sr. Writer

This is an on-site position in Boise, Idaho. Candidates must currently live in the Boise area or be willing and able to relocate.

Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Writer is to create powerful, inspiring, electrifying words and ideas that align with clients' brand and marketing strategies. In conjunction with the assigned art director or designer, the senior writer operates at the heart of creative ideation and is a foundational role in the agency creating the best, most award-winning work achievable.

This role collaborates with designers and strategists to produce highly engaging materials for any/all platforms and audiences including film/television, digital, social, web, media activation, and any innovative medium called upon or imagined. Additionally, the role involves developing content strategies, writing and editing content, and mentoring junior writers.

To ensure the highest level of services are provided, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and write unique, fresh, highest-quality content for various mediums, as outlined above.
• Collaborate with designers and creative teams to ensure content complements visual storytelling and design aesthetics.
• Conduct research and interviews to gather insights and ensure accuracy in storytelling.
• Maintain a deep understanding of brand voice, style, and tone across different clients and projects.
• Develop strategic messaging frameworks for brand positioning and marketing campaigns.
• Edit and refine content to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with client objectives.
• Present ideas and concepts to clients and internal teams effectively.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content strategy and digital marketing.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of writing styles and projects, including brand storytelling, digital content, and marketing copy.
• Proven ability to develop creative and strategic content solutions tailored to diverse audiences.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple projects.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of branding, marketing strategies, and user experience principles.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital marketing trends.
• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Slack, , or Asana).
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts clearly.
• Experience in writing for design, creative, or branding agencies.
• Knowledge of UX writing and content strategy.
• Familiarity with social media content creation and campaign development.
• Background in scriptwriting for video or multimedia storytelling.

Education and Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5–7 years of professional writing experience in an agency, media, publishing, or corporate environment.
