Youth Development
Idaho Youth Ranch unites for Idaho’s youth by providing accessible programs and services that nurture hope, healing, and resilience—particularly for youth and families facing economic hardship. Many of the youth and families we serve experience challenges such as low income, housing instability, and limited access to supportive services. Our programs, funded in part by a statewide network of thrift stores, include emergency shelter, residential care, youth and family therapy, job readiness training, adoption services, and more—services that help youth and families overcome barriers and build brighter futures.
In 2023, Idaho Youth Ranch opened a new 64-bed residential facility serving low-income families in Idaho. This first-of-its-kind facility allows youth to remain close to their families while receiving essential treatment. Ameri Corps VISTA members will play a key role in supporting the growth and sustainability of this facility, engaging in projects that include volunteer recruitment, community engagement, fundraising, and marketing.
Their work strengthens systems that expand access to services and resources for families experiencing economic hardship, helping ensure more youth have the support they need to thrive. All positions are based out of our offices in Boise, , with occasional travel to other locations. Ameri Corps VISTA members at Idaho Youth Ranch have the opportunity to work with passionate teammates, participate in monthly training and professional development, gain valuable skills in project management, communications, and community engagement, and live in one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.
By strengthening the organization’s systems and outreach, VISTA members help multiply the impact of our programs—providing more families with the resources and opportunities needed to overcome poverty and build resilience.
The Development and Marketing VISTA will assess current donor-stewardship and marketing processes and develop documented workflows, communication templates, automation procedures, and implementation guidance that future staff and interns can use.
