Description:
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER EASTERN OREGON
Under the direction of the SAHS foundation leadership, the position is responsible for the work, function and success of the Saint Alphonsus philanthropy in eastern Oregon. The position oversees the continued growth and enhancement of philanthropic support of the Oregon hospitals. It actively nurtures current donor relationships and strategically forms relationships with prospective and new donors. The position oversees all fundraising programs pertaining to eastern Oregon, including campaigns, appeals, donor recognition, and special events.
The position also participates in hospital leadership as well as supporting regional philanthropy initiatives for all of SAHS.
- Bachelor's degree required in Public Relations, Management, Business, Marketing or related field, and a minimum of ten years related, professional experience required.
- 7-10 years of experience in program development, project management, and leadership required.
- 5 years of experience in special events in a professional or volunteer capacity required.
- 5 or more years of fund-raising experience in non-profit sector preferred.
- Knows, understands, demonstrates and leads the cultural integration of Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions.
- Foundation Leadership:
Directs and supervises the business and affairs of the eastern Oregon Foundation boards/committees. - Foundation Leadership:
Develops short-term objectives and long-range goals. - Foundation Leadership:
Prepares for board/leadership approval, implementation and operation of these objectives. - Foundation Leadership:
Serves as ex-officio member of all standing committees of the Foundation and acts as consultant to the membership of these committees and programmatic structures. - Foundation Leadership:
Works with Health System Foundation team to create procedures to ensure proper donor recognition, acknowledgements, and record keeping. - Foundation Leadership:
Works with the Marketing team to develop programs of information, outreach, and publicity, which creates a following for Saint Alphonsus and its mission. - Foundation Leadership:
Manages restricted funds to honor donor intent and organizational needs. - Community-facing:
Often serves as representative in civic, governmental and professional community events, maintaining strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, industry leaders, peers, the media, and others. - Community-facing:
Leads and organizes fundraising events. - Fundraising:
Plans and implements internal and external fundraising campaigns. - Fundraising:
Identifies organizational needs most appropriate for fundraising and philanthropic support. - Fundraising:
Identifies and recruits new sponsors/funding sources for events and activities. - Fundraising:
Maintains portfolio of current major donors and develops relationships with new and prospect donors. - Fundraising:
Brings in $100,000 worth of donations annually. - Internal Leadership:
Actively participates in leadership activities and sits on Senior Leadership Team. - Internal Leadership:
Acts as the liaison between eastern Oregon and the Marketing, Communications and Events Team. - Internal Leadership:
Serves as local coordinator/leader for health system initiatives including Healthcare Week, Nurses Week, brand activities, etc., working in conjunction with Mar Comm and Events Forms and nurtures internal relationships, especially with aligned and partner departments (Mission, Community Health & Well-being, Finance, Marketing & Communications, Service Line Leaders, Food & Nutrition Services/Catering, Facilities – as well as all clinical and non-clinical units). - Internal Leadership:
Manages funding requests from Saint Alphonsus and subsequent stewardship processes to disburse resources for innovation, budget relief, major capital projects, and colleague resiliency, education and engagement. - Internal Leadership:
Coordinates program kick-offs and celebrations and tours for donors and supporters. - Leads Foundation Boards/Committees:
