Job Details
• Work setting is an acute care hospital endoscopy unit with 3 procedural suites, supporting the main OR, CVOR, and ICU,
• Average caseload of 20-30 cases per day,
• Common procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, foreign body removal, impactions, ERCPs with stent placement or removal, pancreatic biopsy, lung biopsy, and spy glass procedures; some cases performed in collaboration with IR,
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics; pediatric experience is preferred,
• RNs are expected to float between Pre-op, Intra-op, and Post-op/PACU within the endoscopy unit,
• General sedation patients remain in PACU; RNs administer moderate sedation and propofol; CRNAs and anesthesia staff handle General and MAC cases,
• Scrub experience is a plus but not required; some permanent staff RNs do scrub,
• Charting is performed in Epic,
• Schedule is four 9-hour day shifts per week with start times between 7-8 AM, Monday through Friday,
• On-call requirement of one weeknight per week (end of shift to start of next day); no weekend call,
• May be added to a holiday call rotation,
• Call response time is 30 minutes,
• Floating to a sister facility in Nampa or Meridian in the same specialty, or as a sitter, is rare but possible,
Job Requirements
• Active Idaho RN license or Compact RN license required; pending licensure will not be accepted,
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and PALS - all must be active at time of consideration; pending certifications are not accepted,
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital endoscopy experience required,
• Comfort with moderate sedation including propofol administration is required,
• Pediatric experience is preferred,
• Epic EMR experience,
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position,
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,
• Valid driver's license required for consideration,
Additional Information
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position,
• Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment,
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted,
• Orientation consists of 3-4 shifts with a dedicated preceptor,
• Unit is staffed with a Charge RN for Pre-op/Post-op, one Charge RN for the main endoscopy area, one Lead Endo Tech in the main area, and CNAs supporting Pre/Post areas,
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital,
• BSN is not required for this position
