Job Description
Summary of the Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) role involves supporting plasma center operations under guidance of the Center Manager and Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and EHS.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events, evaluate donor reactions, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, and assist in donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Provide guidance to donors and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationU.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 - $31.68 per hour, reflecting anticipated range. Actual wage will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, etc.
