The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department and works under the CSU Manager in collaboration with the Enterprise Resource and Staffing Office. Key responsibilities include recruitment, managing staff timecards, monitoring performance, supporting professional development, and ensuring compliance with educational and accreditation requirements.
The ANM role is highly engaged with staff in the Clinical Support Unit (CSU)—our internal float pool. The CSU team consists of RNs, CNAs, and Mental Health Technicians who provide support across all Emergency Departments and inpatient units within St. Luke’s Treasure Valley hospitals, primarily serving the Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Elmore sites. Additionally, we offer specialized programs that extend support to our Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs).
CSU is a dynamic, growing department that delivers a high‑quality, specialized float experience to the patients and departments we serve. - Full‑Time, Exempt/Salaried Position:
Monday–Friday, 8- or 10‑hour shifts (flexibility required), with rotating 24/7 administrative on‑call responsibilities. - Leadership Scope:
Approximately 35 direct reports, including RNs and CNAs. - Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment while ensuring delivery of high‑quality patient care aligned with hospital standards.
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff to support professional growth.
- Actively participate in Quality and Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Engage in system‑wide projects offering opportunities for growth and advancement.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. - Experience:
Minimum 3 years of RN experience required, inpatient experience preferred; leadership experience preferred; strong skills in team collaboration, communication, and critical thinking are highly valued. - Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN license (required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Additional Requirements:
- Reliable transportation for travel between hospital sites.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Epic charting system preferred.
