Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and working under the Center Physician for medical issues.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis results.
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance, including unacceptable findings and donor safety issues.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation under occupational health, following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly wage: $23.04 – $31.68
