Avery's House is a substance abuse & mental health treatment provider for adolescents, seeking an experienced, dependable, and responsible RN.
The Licensed Registered Nurse provides recovery focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment as prescribed by the physician. The RN delivers safe, effective, and efficient direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care. The RN monitors clients’ vitals, alerts medical professionals to concerns, and recommends plans of action. Experience with adolescents is preferred;
additional experience with mental health and substance abuse is beneficial. The RN oversees the nursing department, BHT providers, medication storage and distribution, and serves as the primary liaison between clients, clinicians, and the Medical Director.
- Demonstrates the Avery’s House mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients.
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with clients.
- Provides nursing care and assists in the welcoming, admission, and discharge process.
- Collects data relevant to client’s care; develops and implements nursing care plans.
- Demonstrates knowledge of crisis management and intervention.
- Transcribes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administers medication management policies and procedures.
- Notifies the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition.
- Documents the progress of clients toward their recovery plan goals.
- Attends and participates in company meetings.
- Coordinates and participates in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the discretion of management.
- Ability to review and implement Recovery/Treatment plans.
- Ability to support medical and psycho‑social care of members served.
- Ability to administer oral and injectable medications.
- Ability to act as a team member and provide input via reporting observations and concerns and ask appropriate questions.
- Ability to review and implement client recovery treatment plans.
- Ability to implement physical crisis and de‑escalation techniques.
- Graduation from an accredited RN program and current RN licensure in Idaho.
- Current CPR/FA certificate.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid enhanced clearance with of H&W.
- One year of experience in related field.
- Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medication.
- Valid Driver’s License.
