Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in a hospital operating room setting during night shifts. Collaborate closely with charge nurses and surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for neuro, ortho trauma, and general surgical patients during 12-hour night shifts.
- Monitor and assess patient status throughout the procedure, promptly addressing any complications.
- Maintain sterile techniques and assist surgeons as needed without scrubbing.
- Document patient information and procedural details accurately in compliance with hospital policies.
- Utilize DaVinci robotic systems proficiently during surgeries requiring minimally invasive techniques.
- Support in preparing operating rooms and equipment for scheduled surgeries, ensuring readiness and safety.
- Valid RN license with current state licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in the operating room, with neuro case experience required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general, ortho trauma, and robotic assisted surgeries.
- Strong understanding of neuro procedures such as burr holes and craniotomies, beyond spine.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts.
- Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certifications.
- Access to ongoing education and specialty training in neuro and minimally invasive surgeries.
