Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650+ provider multispecialty group practice seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to manage orthopedic trauma patients in collaboration with orthopedic trauma surgeon(s). The position includes direct clinical management through approved protocols and procedures, as well as appropriate medical consultation. The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director and other members of the trauma service to evaluate new trauma patients in the Emergency Room, provide direction to hospital personnel regarding patient management issues, and manage inpatient orthopedic fracture patients.
This individual will also work in the operating room and outpatient clinic settings. The schedule consists of a full-time rotation of responsibilities including clinic, operating room, inpatient rounding, and PA call coverage. The PA team consists of seven (7) providers. Coverage of group call as needed, including nights and weekend shifts.
The qualified Nurse Practitioner will show evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities, and commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Candidates must hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA, and should have past surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital-based setting.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC)Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary trauma and critical care services. SARMC is an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center with annual trauma volumes exceeding 1,250 and over 400 patients with an ISS>16. Trauma is predominantly blunt in nature. The trauma surgeons participate in a primary and back-up call panel arrangement.
Requirements- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho
