OverviewJoin Blackbird Health as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. You will deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. You will build meaningful connections with patients and families, ensuring they understand care options and stay engaged in treatment. This remote role requires a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care: conduct thorough evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for children, adolescents, and young adults. Develop personalized treatment plans and provide medication management that addresses individual needs.
- Build meaningful therapeutic relationships: spend time with patients and families to understand experiences, educate them about treatment options, and provide ongoing support to maintain engagement in care.
- Monitor progress and safety: track progress against care goals, adjust treatment plans as needed, and intervene proactively to keep patients safe.
- Collaborate for integrated care: work with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans addressing the whole child; communicate with families as appropriate.
- Educate and empower families: provide consultation and education about diagnoses, treatment options, and how to support a child’s mental health journey.
- Ensure clinical excellence and compliance: oversee diagnostic testing (including digital and lab results); coordinate with administrative teams on refills, prior authorizations, records, and rescheduling; maintain HIPAA-compliant records and documentation.
- Active PMHNP license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 2 years of independent practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults under any nursing license
- Board Certification by ANCC or AANP (PMHNP-BC)
- DEA license, State Prescriptive Authority License & CDS
- Computer, phone, and high-speed internet; experience with Google Suite and EHR systems
- Commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week
