We are actively hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
- Assess patient’s status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic, pain and comfort, and mental status.
- Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors.
- Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes.
- Explain the physiology associated with anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions.
- Develop an individualized plan of care.
- Implement patient safety and care interventions:
- Protect patient from injury caused by positioning, thermal sources and extraneous objects.
- Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and machinery and follow procedures for reporting and correcting unsafe situations.
- Speak up with safety concerns and act as the patient’s advocate.
- Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures.
- Adhere to standard precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Communicate patient’s current status throughout the continuum of care.
- Provide acute pain and comfort management as needed.
- Administer medications safely and correctly, using the eight rights of medication administration.
- Provide nursing and appropriate monitoring according to policies and procedures.
- Perform interventions to protect the patient from infection.
- Perform interventions to maintain wound integrity and tissue perfusion at or above baseline.
- Manage co‑morbid conditions as applicable.
- Manage fluid as prescribed.
- Assess knowledge level of patient or designated support person.
- Provide education regarding psychosocial responses, nutrition, medication, pain, comfort, wound management, and expected outcomes of surgery or invasive procedures.
- Involve patient or designated support person actively in decisions affecting their care and rehabilitation process.
- Protect patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy.
- Provide age‑specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
- Maintain consistent, comparable care regardless of setting.
- Evaluate the patient’s progress toward outcomes.
- Transfer care as needed.
- Provide accurate, concise hand‑off reports to teammates.
