DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and post‑procedural cardiac experience, with day shift scheduling and floating responsibilities across two units.
Responsibilities- Acute care hospital setting on a Telemetry unit split across two floors (3rd and 7th)
- 3rd Floor (20 beds) focuses on cardiac patients including post‑op open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post‑caths, pacemakers, and medical telemetry
- 7th Floor (35 beds) is general telemetry with CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, post‑strokes, and post‑procedural overflow
- Read & interpret telemetry strips twice per shift
- Assist with high‑flow, BiPAP, CPAP management; assist RT as needed
- Titrate Heparin and occasionally insulin drips; facility will train on insulin if needed
- Common set‑rate drips: cardiac GTT, amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine
- Float to any MS, MS‑Tele, or Tele unit within the hospital or to sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa
- Flexible scheduling 6 weeks at a time; maximum of 5 consecutive shifts, no block scheduling
- Active compact RN license; must be active at time of consideration
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS - Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Post‑procedural cardiac experience (catheter lab, ablations, open‑heart surgery)
- PCU and stepdown experience preferred
- Ability to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
- Epic EMR experience
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Two professional references: one recent supervisor and one recent peer/supervisor
- Expected to float between 3rd and 7th floor telemetry units
- Holiday coverage may be required, but not on every holiday
- 2‑shift orientation: one shift on each floor
- Any color scrubs acceptable
- Must reside >50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible
- Leadership treats travelers comparably to permanent staff; history of contract extensions
- Weekly wages: $648 (36 hrs × $18/hr)
- Stipends: $1,296 (lodging $820 + meals & incidentals $476)
- Net weekly pay: $1,944
In compliance with state pay transparency laws, the estimated weekly pay range for this role is $1,749 – $1,944. The $1,944 weekly pay listed here corresponds to the higher end of this range.
